Art gallery and office space in Paris
This project aims to convert a former shop into an art gallery with an office area. In order to meet the client’s program the main space was split in two thanks to a set of pivoting book shelves developed specifically for this project. The slab on the ground floor has been cut out in order to allow the light to penetrate in the basement. A perforated metal staircase joins the two levels.
The language developed for this project relies on perforated metal. The staircase, the libraries and the entrance bench are made with a Gantois sheet which allows a transparency of about 50%. This material allows to create a subtle play of transparency and lets the light enter the premises.
The office furniture was made to measure in order to create a perfect match between the architecture and the furniture.
